New homepage posted
I posted a new homepage for Purple Swirl Arts today https://purpleswirlarts.wordpress.com/. I’ve got more tweaking to do, but at least this design works. Now, onto the interior pages.
It took me 11-1/2 hours over the past week, and it was a struggle. I’m not a CSS coding artist, I’m a visual artist. Ever since the web moved from visual development using tables and spacer.gifs, so I could see what I was doing as I did it, to Cascading Style Sheets (CSS, a linear, logical code) I’ve had trouble. While I “can” learn CSS, I don’t want to. To me, it feels like a step backwards in time, to the late ’70s, early ’80s before Graphical User Interface (GUI) and WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get). I don’t want to spend the time learning how to read lines of code to fix problems. I just want to do layout, and let it happen. CSS solves a lot of technical problems, though.
